THREE-TIME Porsche Carrera Cup Champion Craig Baird has confirmed he will join Stone Brothers Racing for the Sandown and Bathurst endurance races.

The Kiwi ace confirmed during SPEED’s weekend TV coverage of the ARMOR ALL Bathurst 12 Hour that he will co-drive the #4 IRWIN Falcon with Lee Holdsworth later in the year.

It will be a return to SBR for Baird, who drove full-time for the team in its Pirtek Falcon in 2000 and won a race at Phillip Island.

He also co-drove with Jason Bright in the endurance races in 1999.

Baird also joins Holdsworth with Monster Energy backing, debuting support from the energy drink company over the course of the weekend.

Baird finished third in the Bathurst 12 Hour on the weekend in a Ferrari 458 and will head to Adelaide next weekend to begin his Porsche Carrera Cup title defence.

Lucky 7 Falcon driver Tim Slade finished second outright in the Bathurst race in a Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3, while Steven Johnson and Steve Richards teamed with Nathan Tinkler to win Class B and took fourth overall in a Porsche GT3 Cup Car.

The V8 Supercars Championship kicks off next weekend at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from March 1-4.
