TEAM BOC and Brad Jones Racing has unveiled the look that Jason Bright will carry on his #8 Commodore in the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship.
The mainly white livery is something of a throw back to BOC Commodores of the past, namely the team’s 2009 look with the late Jason Richards.
“It’s a predominately white car, like when ‘JR’ drove it,” team co-owner Brad Jones told BigPond Sport this week.
“We’ve gone back to a white base like the 2009-spec livery.”
This season is BOC’s 10th year of sponsorship of the Albury-based team, beginning in the V8 Supercars Development Series in 2003 with driver Andrew Jones.
Jones took Team BOC to the Development Series crown in 2004 and since 2005 the company has backed BJR in the main V8 Supercars Championship.
“BOC came on board to support Andrew and we won the Development Series and then they stepped up to the main game and replaced OzEmail in 2005 when we were running Falcons.
“They’ve been there ever since and it’s been a fantastic relationship. They’re great people, their business is strong and it’s been a really good relationship over the years.”
Bright will again drive the same #8 Team BOC Commodore that he piloted in 2011 and this year is entering his third year with the team.
The former Bathurst winner finished 16th in last year’s championship with two race wins at Barbagallo and Winton.
