Fujitsu Racing’s Lee Holdsworth was quickest in today’s third practice session for the Coates Hire Ipswich 300 – the first practice session with all 28 regular series drivers on track.

It was the first time on track today for Holdsworth, who is in the top 14 in the championship and therefore not eligible for the first two practice sessions.

Holdsworth’s fastest time of 1.10.1998 was just 0.06 seconds faster than Jim Beam Racing’s Steven Johnson.

His teammate James Moffat was third, ahead of Tim Slade (Lucky 7 Racing), Jason Bright (Team BOC) and the TeamVodafone duo of Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup.

Alex Davison, Fabian Coulthard and Rick Kelly rounded out the top ten, and just over half a second separated first to tenth.

Conditions at the Ipswich track have remained dry so far today, however some light rain has started to fall around the circuit and the weather could impact the final practice session, which starts at 3.20pm AEST today.
