BRAD Jones Racing will run a special tribute to Jason Richards on all three of its cars in this year’s V8 Supercars Championship – and in the years to come.

The popular Kiwi racer died after a battle with a rare form of cancer late last year and his former team will honour his three years with the Albury-based squad in a special way.

Their three entries – the #8 Team BOC car of Jason Bright, #14 Lockwood Holden of Fabian Coulthard and #21 Wilson Security Commodore of David Wall – will all carry specially-designed ‘JR’ shooting star logos.

They will be placed outside the B-pillar on each car between the driver and rear door, in prime view of every driver who steps foot into a BJR-run car as they climb aboard.

"I think it's nice," team co-owner Brad Jones told BigPond Sport.

"Everyone knows why it's on there, but this way, he's with us all the time.

"It will be on the moulding next to the driver's window, so you see it every time you get into the car. It's only on the driver's side."

The JR ‘star’ logo will be included on each and every car fielded by Brad Jones Racing in the future, in the same way that the Williams Formula 1 team displays the ‘Senna’ logo on its cars in honour of former team driver Ayrton Senna.
