GREG Murphy will have a green Pepsi Max Crew Commodore for next weekend’s Clipsal 500 in Adelaide to kick off the new V8 Supercars Championship season.

Murphy’s livery was revealed today on the Seven Network’s ‘V8Xtra’ program, the look the first of four different and distinct liveries for the year.

The green appearance of the car supports the Pepsi Max Cash or Car promotion that launches this Thursday on March 1.

“I definitely won’t have trouble standing out at Clipsal will I?” said Murphy.

“It’s a really vibrant livery to kick off the year – I think it looks great and I’m stoked to be back sporting number 51.”

The four-time Bathurst winner is re-united with his familiar #51 this season, after running #11 last year on his Kelly Racing-run Pepsi Max Crew Commodore.

Murphy has used the #51 exclusively in the V8 Supercars Championship since 2001, though Greg Murphy Racing used it in last year’s Dunlop Series.

“We want to really push the car in 2012,” says Murphy, who chalked up a win last weekend at Hampton Downs in New Zealand in the inaugural round of the country’s new V8 SuperTourers category.

“We had some successes last season so this year will be all about building on those positives and pushing the Pepsi Max Crew higher up the grid.

“We’re all pumped for a very big year in 2012.”

Murphy will hit the track on Friday for first practice at the Clipsal 500 in his new-look Commodore.
