V8 SUPERCARS has updated the 2012 pit order, which was released yesterday, for next year’s V8 Supercars Championship.
Naturally, 2011 Teams Champions, TeamVodafone, will again fill the two slots at the end of pit lane – nearest to the pit exit – at all events next year, while things get interesting after that with a range of teams moving to share pit booms.
There is also the added complication of multi-car teams – such as Walkinshaw Racing and its three-car squad - being moved further down the lane in order to be pitted together.
This is determined by the lowest finishing REC from the 2011 season that the team uses, irrespective of how well the best-finishing cars placed in the Team’s Championship this season.
Other elements revealed in the list include:
* Russell Ingall will race under #66 in his Walkinshaw-run Supercheap Auto Commodore next year.
* The second Tekno Autosports entry will run #91.
* Fabian Coulthard will use #14 at Brad Jones Racing.
* Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport and Tony D’Alberto Racing will be paired together under one pit boom.
* The #21 BJR entry and the #66 Ingall entry will share a boom.
The order of pit lane for 2012 RECs (from pit exit back to pit entry) is:
