Disney-Pixar CARS fans in Melbourne will have pole position to get up close to Lightning McQueen at the V8 Supercars Test Day at Sandown on Saturday 11 February.

Joined by his friend Mack The Transporter, Lighting McQueen has landed in Australia, as the official Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour rolls on throughout 2012.

Racing fans of all ages can come and see their favourite drivers, V8 Supercars and their B Double transporters, sporting brand new liveries, and of course, meet Mack and McQueen while they’re at it.

Entry to the Test Day is free and the Sandown circuit will be open to the public between 9am-5pm.

There's also a fabulous opportunity for all fans to enjoy a grid walk during the lunch break to see the new-look cars up-close plus say hi to the drivers.

Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour Ambassador and V8 Supercar driver, Mark ‘Frosty’ Winterbottom, won himself an army of new fans after voicing the Australian race car character of the same name in Disney- Pixar’s CARS 2. This marked the first time in Australian history that a sporting hero has been given a speaking role in an animated film.

“I'm a big Cars fan and I love both of the movies,” says Winterbottom. “I've been watching Cars 2 every second day with my son Oliver and he is going to be so excited when he sees Lightning McQueen in real life. Next Saturday is an official Test Day for V8 Supercars so maybe Lightning will pick up some racing tips from the team. I can’t wait to catch up with Lightning next Saturday and introduce him to Oliver. He will be so excited to see him”.

Mack The Transporter is touring Australia with Lightning McQueen throughout 2012 as part of the Disney- Pixar CARS Truck Tour. This includes being a showcase attraction at select V8 Supercar Events around the country.
