TEAMVODAFONE'S Jamie Whincup has claimed back-to-back wins at the Falken Tasmania Challenge, taking victory in todays' 200km race.

Whincup's win today also hands Holden its 400th ATCC/V8 Supercars championship race win, and crucially extends his series lead to teammate Craig Lowndes to 194 points.

"What an incredible weekend for us," said Whincup.

"Every race is unbelievably important and we just need to keep our head down and keep the focus.

"Once again, I had a fantastic car and a big thanks to the crew. Roll on Sandown."

Polesitter Paul Dumbrell got the jump from FPR stablemate Mark Winterbottom at the start, and the pair were the last of frontrunners to pit on lap 21. Dumbrell remained in front of Winterbottom, but he fell off the road as he rejoined the race and allowed Whincup into the race lead.

From that point, Whincup held steady and despite some pressure from Will Davison, went on to greet the chequered flag by 1.7 seconds.

"We gave it everything, that was a faultless race by the team," said Will Davison.

"Full credit to Jamie and his guys ...it was quality stuff out there. Lap after lap there was nothing in it.

"What a job by FPR, to have three cars so competitive this weekend and two cars on the podiumÉ it's a credit to the boys."

Winterbottom rounded out the podium, finishing ahead of Paul Dumbrell.

"We got away, then got stuck behind (Dumbrell) and overcooked the brakes and from there they didn't really recover," said Winterbottom.

"This place is all about brakes and two straights and we lost a bit of speed, but it's great to have two cars on the podium."

Craig Lowndes' early stop strategy paid off, vaulting from 15th on the grid to sixth in the first half of the race. He then made a late race pass on Toll HRT's Garth Tander to finish the race in 5th.

Shane van Gisbergen, Todd Kelly, Jonathon Webb and Fabian Coulthard rounded out the top ten.
