TeamVodafone's Jamie Whincup and Sebastien Bourdais have won today's thrilling 300km endurance race on the streets of Surfers Paradise, finishing 2.2s ahead of Ford Performance Racing teammates Will Davison/Mika Salo and Mark Winterbottom/Richard Lyons.

Whincup notched up his 7th race win of the year, but more importantly has regained the championship lead after teammate Craig Lowndes' electrical gremlins resulted in a DNF for the #888 Commodore.

"I love the streets of the Gold Coast!" said Whincup after his 5th win on the Surfers street circuit.

"Sebastien did an awesome job, he handed it over to me in the perfect position and it was just up to me to bring it home."

Jim Beam Racing's James Moffat and Joey Hand finished a stellar fourth; rookie Moffat charging from 13th after his final pit stop to narrowly miss his first V8 Supercar podium.

"I had nothing left," said Moffat.

"Another couple of laps and I might have had those FPR cars which would have been pretty sweet.

I'm proud of the guys, they took a bit of a gamble in the middle of the race and it almost paid off for us but I've got to hand it Joey, he did an awesome job in the first stint."

Will Davison attempted a pass on Whincup late in the race but couldn't hold position, saying he and Whincup were 'absolutely on the edge'.

"I burnt the rear tyres up a bit at the end but it's great for me, Mika and the whole Trading Post Racing team." said Davison.

Bundaberg Racing's Fabian Coulthard/Pat Long snatched fifth from Greg Murphy/Oilver Gavin on the final lap.

Rounding out the top ten were Rick Kelly/Jorg Bergmeister, Michael Caruso/Augusto Farfus Jr, Jonathon Webb/Gil De Ferran and Lee Holdsworth/Simon Pagenaud.
