David Reynolds makes a big switch to Ford for the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship, replacing the retiring Paul Dumbrell in the #55 The Bottle-O Falcon based at Ford Performance Racing.

Last year Reynolds drove a Commodore for Kelly Racing, though the relationship fizzed mid-season as he looked to move camps for this season.

After negotiations during the off-season, both Rod Nash Racing and Kelly Racing have arrived at a suitable agreement to allow Reynolds to take his place in the #55 Falcon.

Reynolds impressed on-track last year in his return to full-time V8 Supercars Championship racing after one solo year full-time with Walkinshaw Racing in 2009.

He netted a fourth place in Abu Dhabi and qualified a career-best third at Townsville, showing plenty of speed throughout the course of the season that proved why he belongs full-time in the series.

Reynolds won the Australian Formula Ford Championship in 2004 driving for the well-known Sonic Motor Racing squad, before graduating to the Porsche Carrera Cup with the Melbourne-based team.

Three seasons in the one-make series culminated in becoming champion in 2007, the same year where he made his V8 Supercar debut. Originally to drive for the Toll HSV Dealer Team, he was moved to the Supercheap Auto/PWR team to drive alongside Cameron McConville, however missed out on a drive at Bathurst when the car failed on the warm-up lap.

He moved into the V8 Supercars Development Series in 2008 and rounded out the year with two podium finishes and fourth place in the championship, earning him a berth for the endurance events with Paul Dumbrell.

Reynolds then stepped up to drive the Bundaberg Red Commodore for Walkinshaw Racing full-time in 2009 before being moved into a part-time endurance driver role with the organization for 2010.
