Taz is a fighter both on and off the track. He suffered  a massive personal battle last year after receiving the  devastating news that he was suffering from Lymphatic  Cancer. After undergoing 4 months of chemotherapy Taz commenced rebuilding his life with well know personal trainer to the stars, Heath Meldrum. After months of training, Taz is back to peak physical condition.

2012 is the year for this young gun to prove to both himself and his team that he is back on track.

He began his racing career in karts, winning the Ford KartStars Series in 2000 before taking time out from racing to follow his other passion: surfing. Douglas returned to racing in 2005 in Victorian Formula Ford and scored a job working with the Toll HSV Dealer Team for 2006 in addition to sampling the championship-winning car. He won the Victorian Formula Ford series in the same season and competed in the national series in 2007 before signing to drive an ex-Stone Brothers Falcon for Terry Wyhoon in his irst full tilt at the Dunlop Series in 2008.

An on and off schedule in 2008 meant that results were hard to come by, so Douglas decided to go out on his own and purchased the VZ Commodore used by Jack Perkins in the 2008 Dunlop Series.

Douglas, son of former Sports Sedan racer Stewart, enjoyed his best year yet in the Dunlop Series and also made his Bathurst 1000 debut in a wildcard entry alongside Sam Walter and then returned to the Mountain in 2010 alongside Tony Ricciardello in a Kelly Racing Commodore and made a single V8SC appearance in 2011 as a ill-in for the ill Tony D’Alberto in the #3 Wilson Security Falcon at the L&H 500 at Phillip Island.

2012 Will be Taz’s first year competing in the main championship and he is set to impress.
