Autofocus Store has officially thrown open its doors for business in style. The Grand Opening was a red carpet affair with guests from all walks of the motoring and motorsport communities, including three times World Superbike Champion, Tory Bayliss.
The evening was hosted by Daniel Gibson from Prime TV and Channel 7’s V8 Supercar telecasts. Autofocus Store welcomed over 100 guests who were treated to an evening of fun, food, and drinks with entertainment by Brisbane trio ‘3 to Tango’. Level One of Autofocus Store saw the magnificent Lamborghini Superleggera. The Superleggera remained still for the night, but needs only 3.8 seconds to go from zero to 100km/h. Autofocus Store on a regular basis features a performance vehicle in store and the Lamborghini did not disappoint.
Also in attendance were V8 Supercar team owners, members and drivers. Guests also came from interstate, and as far away as Europe. Gabriele Ghielmini, General Manager of Tendence was on hand from Switzerland to join in the occasion and to launch the exciting new Tendence watch brand into Australia. Italian designed and Swiss Engineered this brand has been brought to Australia to further the Autofocus stable of lifestyle brands like Race Rally Road, Haul, Automoblox and Troy Lee Designs. Also on display was a sneak peek at some exciting new products from Oakley Racing Division to be released later in 2009.
World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss made his first appearance since returning to Australia for the Autofocus Store opening. When asked if a much hyped race between Bayliss and Moto GP star Valentino Rossi could happen Bayliss laughed and said anything is possible, but added “I seem to remember the last time we raced together I beat him!”. When pressed on interest in possibly going from two wheels to four was in his future Bayliss was clear that V8 Supercars was of great interest to the three times SBK Champion. “I am under no illusion of how difficult it is, and have a great deal of respect for the V8 Supercar drivers, but it is something I would like to explore if the right opportunity came’s up.” said Bayliss. “I would also like to thank those responsible from Autofocus for putting on such a good night, and see only good things for the store in the future”. Bayliss has offered some of his personal World Superbike memorabilia to put on display within the store.

Located in Queensland’s V8 Supercar hub, Autofocus is based at 52 Blanck St, Ormeau just off the M1 highway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
