V8 Supercar Championship Series Control Tyre
Dunlop, is an iconic name in motorsport and has been at the forefront of motoring development for over a century. Last season Dunlop won its third consecutive contract to supply its highly-acclaimed control tyre to teams participating in the V8 Supercar Championship Series from 2008 through to 2012. Dunlop also supplied its 50,000th tyre to the Championship at the 2007 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

Dunlop Fast Facts
- Each Dunlop V8 Supercar Control Tyre is hand-made in  Nagoya, Japan and takes more than three hours to manufacture.
- Dunlop’s V8 Supercar Control Tyre is a 280/680R17 both wet and dry.
- Dunlop supplied over 10,000 tyres to the V8 Supercar Championship Series and Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series last season which will increase to 12,000 tyres throughout 2008.
- Dunlop Motorsport has tyre engineers and fitters servicing the requirements of the V8 Supercar field at each round.
- Specifically built to TEGA’s guidelines, Dunlop’s control tyre with just 4mm of tread and a contact patch of 80mm, is designed and tested to:

• be a steer tyre and a drive tyre
• grip 15 different track surfaces
• cope with track temperatures ranging between 5 degrees in Winton and 55 degrees in Bahrain
• control a 1.5 tonne V8 Supercar capable of 620 horsepower at 7,500 rpm with a top speed of 295km
