Driver Biography
Channel Seven’s young star returns to the driver’s seat this year for the first time after his monster truck mishap that sidelined his 2008 racing season. A regular in the Fujitsu Series for the last four years, Denyer is re uniting with Dick Johnson Racing after competing in DJR-run cars in 2005 and 2006. Having begun his racing career in karts, the former Sunrise weatherman then made a few production car appearances before proving a rough and tough racer in the V8 Ute class. He stepped into V8 Supercars in 2005 and debuted in the Championship Series in 2006, finishing as the best rookie at Bathurst in that year. Last year he led the MINI Challenge series and picked up two race wins in the Fujitsu V8 Series before his well publicised accident sidelined him for the rest of the season.
