Following Pepsi Max FPR’s announcement Chaz Mostert will race alongside Mark Winterbottom for the 2014 season, Will Davison – currently campaigning the #6 Falcon – has released a statement on his personal website.

“Today I can confirm that I have made the decision to leave Ford Performance Racing (FPR) at the end of this season,” the statement read.

“While I cannot yet share details of my plans for 2014 and beyond, please be assured I will continue to be involved with V8 Supercar racing at the highest level and am very excited about what the future holds.

“I’m obligated to not talk about the new program at this stage but I am sure everyone will understand my decision once the details emerge.

“While disappointed with my decision to leave FPR, the relationship remains amicable and together we are committed to earning the coveted #1 at the conclusion of this year’s Championship.

“I look forward to telling you more when I can.”

Davison currently sits fourth in the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship, trailing leader Jamie Whincup by 181 points, and teammate Winterbottom (in third) by 41 points.

Davison debuted in the V8 Supercars Championship in 2004 with Team Dynamik and has since driven with Dick Johnson Racing (full-time from 2006 -08) and Holden Racing Team (2009-10), before joining FPR for the 2011 season.

He has recorded one Bathurst win in 2010 and finished second in the Championship in 2009.
