MultipleAustralian Karting Champion, Formula Ford and Formula 3 race winner KristianLindbom will fill one of the seats at Evans Motorsport Group in the 2013 DunlopV8 Supercar Series.
The 23 yearold will drive in one of EMG’s FPR-built FG Falcons as the team embarks on itsmaiden season in the second-tier V8 Supercar Series.
After apromising V8 debut at the 2012 Clipsal 500 aboard a Lucas Dumbrell MotorsportCommodore Lindbom is looking forward to his first full season in a V8 Supercar.
“It’s a greatopportunity and I’m really thankful for the team and my sponsors for thesupport and for having the belief in me,” said Lindbom.
“I’ve had abit of a stop-start career over the last few years but I’ve never doubted myability or the fact that if I worked hard an opportunity would arise.
“The car is agreat piece of equipment and the fact that the team will be working closelywith FPR made the decision an easy one.
“I’m under noillusions how competitive the series is but I’ll have equipment equal to thebest in the field, I’ve got a great bunch of guys working on the car and I’llbe looking to challenge for podiums and wins as the season progresses.”
EMG ownerJosh Evans was happy to make the announcement, the pair having a long-standingworking relationship.
“It’s greatto be able to give Kristian this opportunity,” said Evans.
“He’s workedclosely with us over the last year as a driver coach in our Formula Fordprogram so it’s almost as if we’re promoting from within which is a nicefeeling.
“He’s veryunderrated and looked like being one of those drivers that never got theopportunity that he deserved so we’re really happy to have him driving one ofour cars.
“We’re allworking really hard and looking forward to getting on track at the end of themonth.”
Lindbom’s FGFalcon will be supported by Urban Energy, Fast Track Communications, EarthExLogistics, Zagami Transport, Aviation Components Sevices and OzStaff.
